2.6 System-specific rules feltgolf
1. In general, feltgolf lanes have the following dimensions:
Length (lanes without target green) 7,00 m - 16,00 m including teeing-off plate
Length (lanes with target green) 9,00 m - 18,00 m including teeing-off plate
Width (inside measure) 0,90 m
Target green diameter 1,80 m or 2,40 m
Length of teeing-off plate 1,30 m - 1,50 m
Width of teeing-off plate 0,20 m
Platform for player 0,80 m - 1,00 m x 1,60 m - 2,00 m
Hole diameter if not specified 0,10 m
2. The authoritative drawings for standardization are kept by the WMF.
3. Only courses with standard dimensions and with 18 of the 32 standardized lanes
can be approved as feltgolf courses.
4. The lanes can be arranged in any order from 1 to 18
5. Mirror-image versions of lanes 3, 5, 10, 11, 15, 17, 20, 22 and 27 are permitted.

7. The complete teeing-off plate between markings A and B is defined as teeing-off
area. B is exactly the middle between A and C. Teeing-off plate is defined from A to
C1.
8. In every target green there must be a repositioning marking line at a constant
distance of 20 cm from the boundary. Repositioning lines at obstacles have a
distance of 50 cm and at boundaries a distance of 20 cm. Further details are
defined at each lane in the following.

10. Following lanes can be built with or without green: 6, 8, 9, 14, 17, 25, 30 and 31. If
these lanes are built without green they have no border line.
11. The playing area can be entered, but only for preparing a stroke. Its not allowed to
step on obstacles.
Lane 1 Single gate
Alternative 1: flat lane
Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Alternative 2: lane with slope
Border line is marked right after the end of slope.
Measurements: length of lane 9 – 13 meter
width of gate 13 – 18 cm
Lane 2 Double gate
Alternative 1: flat lane
Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Alternative 2: lane with slope
Border line is marked right after the end of slope.

Measurements: length of lane 9 – 13 meter
width of gate 13 – 18 cm
Others: First gate must not be smaller than second gate.
Lane 3 Boxes

Measurements: length of lane 12 – 18 meter
distance between obstacles minimum 150 cm
width of passage way 14 – 20 cm
Border line: Border line is marked right at the end of the first box.
Helping line: A helping line is marked right at the end of the other boxes than the
first one.
Repositioning: If the ball comes to rest close before or on the helping line with its
point of contact, it can be repositioned at up to 50 cm from the
obstacle in the direction of the teeing-off area. If it has passed the
helping line, it can be repositioned at up to 50 cm from the obstacle in
the direction of the target.
Others: 4 or 5 boxes are permitted.
Lane 4 German ledge
Alternative 1: flat lane with hole section in slope
Border line is marked 50 cm behind teeing-off plate.
Alternative 2: lane with plateau and hole section in slope

Border line for alternative 2 is marked 50 cm from the end of the
teeing-off plate. If there is no flat part before the slope the border line
is marked at the end of the slope right at the beginning of the plateau.
Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter
hole diameter 10 – 12 cm
Lane rule: If a ball coming from the teeing-off area leaves the lane, the stroke
counts and has to be retaken.
Lane 5 Optical illusion

Measurements: length of lane 12 – 18 meter
width of first obstacle 14 – 25 cm
with of passage way for other obstacles 14 – 20 cm
distance between obstacles minimum 150 cm
Border line: Border line is marked right at the end of the first gate.
Lane 6 Middle hole in slope

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter (without green)

Lane 7 Mailbox

lane 8 Gentleman

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter (without green)
Width of side gate 10 – 20 cm
Border line: Lanes without green have no border line.
At lanes with green the border line is marked right behind the slope
section.
Lane rules: If the ball comes to rest at the top of the trough-shaped obstacle, the
next stroke has to be played from the teeing-off area.
The target is reached at a track without green if the ball comes to rest
in the trough.
At a track with green, the ball must pass the border line.
Lane 9 Örkelljunga

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter (without green)
width of bridge 16 – 20 cm
width of slot 7,5 – 9,5 cm
Border line: Lanes without green have no border line.
At lanes with green the border line is marked right behind the slope
section.
Lane 10 Angle

Measurements: length of lane 10 – 16 meter
width of track to hit the diagonal obstacle part 13 – 18 cm
width of obstacle for alternative 2 13 – 18 cm
Border line: Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
If the lane is built with a slope before the obstacle, the border line is
marked at the end of the slope.
Repositioning for alternative 1:
If the ball comes to rest within the area ACD it can be repositioned at
up to 50 cm from the obstacle in the direction of the target.
If the ball comes to rest in the rectangle area ACFE it can be
repositioned at up to 50 cm from the obstacle in the direction of the
teeing-off area.
Repositioning for alternative 2:
If the ball comes to rest inside the obstacle and didn’t pass the helping
line right at the exit of the obstacle, it has to be repositioned at up to
50 cm from the obstacle in the direction of the teeing-off (see
diagram).
Lane 11 Prolonged angle

Measurements: length of lane 12 – 18 meter
width of track to hit the diagonal obstacle part 13 – 18 cm

Lane 12 Middle hill

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 9 meter
target hole 10 x 10 cm
Border line: Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Repositioning: If the ball comes to rest at the top of the hill it can be repositioned at
up to 20 cm from the end of the hill parallel to the boundary in the
direction from which it has come from. It can also be played from the
point on the hill where it has come to rest.
Lane 13 side gates
Alternative 1: flat lane
Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Alternative 2: lane with slope

Border line is marked right after the end of the slope.
Measurements: length of lane 9 – 15 meter
width of side gates 7 – 9 cm
Lane 14 Cradle

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter (without green)
width of gate 13 – 18 cm
Border line: Lanes without green have no border line.
At lanes with green the border line is marked right behind the slope
section.
Lane rules: If the ball comes to rest at the top of the cradle, the next stroke has to
be played from the teeing-off area.
The target is reached at a lane without green if the ball comes to rest
in the cradle.
At a lane with green the ball must pass the border line.
Lane 15 Fishbone

Measurements: length of lane 12 – 16 meter
width of passage way 13 – 20 cm
Border line: Border line is marked right after the end of slope.
Others: 4 or 5 obstacles are permitted
Lane 16 Channel
Alternative 1: flat lane
Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Alternative 2: lane with slope

Border line is marked right after the end of slope.
Measurements: length of lane 9 – 16 meter
width of passage way 13 – 20 cm
Repositioning: If the ball comes to rest close before or on the helping line with its

Border line: Border line is marked right at the end of the obstacle boxes.
Repositioning: Repositioning line is marked 50 cm behind the end of the slope.
Lane 19 Hill with gate

Measurements: length of lane 9 – 15 meter
width of gate 13 – 18 cm
Border line: Border line is marked right at the end of the gate on the hill.
Repositioning: Repositioning line is marked 50 cm behind the end of the hill.
Lane 20 Lightning

Measurements: length of lane 11 – 14 meter
width of passage way 13 – 18 cm
Border line: Border line is marked 50 cm behind the teeing-off plate.
Lane 21 Ditch

Alternative 1: lane without gate
Alternative 2: lane with gate behind the bunker
Measurements: length of lane 11 – 15 meter
Border line: Border line is marked right at the beginning of the lane behind the
bunker.
Lane rules: The obstacle has not been passed successfully when the ball has
flown over the end of the bunker outside the boundary lines or has
touched the bunker (or a mat in the bunker). In this case the stroke
counts and has to be retaken.
At lanes with an additional gate behind the bunker the intended path
for the ball is through the gate.
Lane 22 Inclined hill with gate

Measurements: length of lane 11 – 16 meter
width of gate 13 – 18 cm
Border line: Border line is marked right at the end of the gate.
Repositioning: Repositioning line is marked 50 cm behind the end of the incline.
Lane 23 Ace box

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter
width of gate 13 – 20 cm
Border line: lane without border line
Lane 24 Swedish ledge

Measurements: length of lane 9 – 12 meter

Repositioning: If the ball comes to rest closer than 20 cm to the slope of the ledge, it
can be repositioned at up to 20 cm away from the slope parallel to the
boundary lines.
If the ball comes to rest closer than 20 cm to the swedish ledge it can
be repositioned at up to 20 cm at right angles.
Lane 25 Money box

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter (without green)

Lane 26 Mailbox with three entrances

Measurements: length of lane 9 – 15 meter
width of ace box (option one) 12 – 14 cm

slot for passing to the green 5 – 6 cm
Lane rule: This lane is defined with two targets and each player can choose one
option A or B whenever he wants.
Option A is the ace box (middle gate). For this option there is no
border line defined.
The option B is to pass one of the side gates and the slot and go for
the target hole in the green. For this option the borderline is marked
right behind the slope section.
Lane 27 Angle with detour

Lane 28 Cross

from the obstacle to all directions (see diagram)
If the ball comes to rest inside the obstacle or on the second helping
line with its point of contact, it can be repositioned at up to 50 cm from
the obstacle in the direction of the teeing-off area.
Lane 29 Möllberg-cradle

Measurements: length of lane 7 – 12 meter
width of target 13 – 20 cm

Lane 30 Vertical hole in slope
